Can I connect to SwitchBlades database with another application, like Visio or Excel?

Yes you can. If you are on the local machine running SwitchBlade Desktop Edition, use the following for your database server name (without the quotes): “localhost\SWITCHBLADE_DESK”. If you are Admin on your machine, you should have no trouble getting to the SwitchBlade database with Windows Authentication. If you are trying to access SwitchBlade’s database remotely, you must use SQL Server Authentication. The Server will be called “\SWITCHBLADE_DESK”. You will also need the login and password (which we do not publish here). Contact support@leftcoastlabs.com to get the login/password for your copy of SwitchBlade Desktop Edition.
