Can i connect the ground earth wire to a bolt and hammer it in the wall?
2 answers to this #1 no it will not provide a ground, and yes you do need a ground even with laptops if they have a grounded plug it uses this as a drain for the square wave power supply it uses you will notice the power supply gets hotter when you have it plugged into the ungrounded system than it does with a grounded system. #2 Hire a qualified electrician to run a properly grounded outlet to your computer room. if not possible than check if there is conduit running to the box you are plugged into if there is you will find by hooking a grounding conductor to a 3 prong outlet (common 110 v socket) and screwing it to the back of the box you will have a true ground. It would still be better to have a dedicated circuit however.
