Can I connect an electro Acoustic Guitar directly into a mixer for recording?

Can I connect an electro acoustic guitar directly to a mixer for recording or when you have to go through an amp first? Yes you can, but most guitarists prefer through an amplifier and put a microphone in front of the amplifier for recording. That said, when I make my regular monthly gig I plug my guitar directly in my power mixer because it’s easier than having to make a separate amplifier. I connect my guitar and three microphones into the mixer and it works very well. However, play live, not recording.
