Can I combine alcohol with alprazolam?
Alcohol must not be consumed with benzodiazepine tranquillizers under any circumstances. Alcohol and alprazolam taken in combination have a dose-related synergistic effect on one another, which can cause severe sedation, behavioral changes, respiratory depression and intoxication. Not only does alcohol spoil the positive effects of the drug, but practically all benzodiazepine-related deaths have something to do with alcohol.
