Well, if you’d like to try, just take out your existing drive and put it in a safe place. You can always put it back in if it doesn’t work. You may hit a speed bump if the new drive is not Mac partitioned. Most are not. Try this if the installer doesn’t recognize the hard drive: 1. Start up on the leopard installer DVD 2. Use disk utilities to ERASE the hard drive 3. Use disk utilities to Repair disk 4. Use the disk utilities to Erase and rename the hard drive to the recognizable Mac HD. 5. Relaunch the installer and it allows you to continue to install as needed…
