Short answer is no, you can’t normally claim anything for the time it is impounded. But i also note you don’t mention WHY they seized it. If they seized it properly, such as for unpaid fines, I’d think it would be pretty obvious to you it’s your own problem. if there was some mistake and they seized it improperly, they will apologize, but will not pay you for the action.
