Can i claim back dated heating allowance if so how far back can i go?
Sadly you can’t claim back. I was in the same position as you and I put together a bundle of documents showing that it was the government’s fault that I hadn’t claimed on time, but I got nowhere with them. I can’t now remember whether this was something I had a right to appeal about, but since I didn’t appeal I either had no right (which I think was the case) or decided that my chance in law of success wasn’t worth pursuing (I am no stranger to tribunal appeals, either on my own behalf or other people’s. They can be quite good fun since anything you say is protected by priviledge!).
