Can I choose to specialise after my 1st year?
Yes, absolutely. If you are unsure which area of Biological Sciences you wish to specialise in we would recommend that you apply for the straight Biological Sciences degree on your UCAS form. At the end of the first year if you have discovered that your interests focus on Human Genetics, for example, then we will arrange for you to be transferred to that degree. Alternatively, if you are already a keen Zoologist, for example, you can apply for the Biological Sciences degree as normal but note on your application that you wish to specialise in Zoology. If you find that you change your mind having taken the first year (which is common all our degrees) then we will be able to transfer you.
