Yes this is possible depending on what size pipe is currently going to your water heater. You maybe have to use a different size pipe to extend it to your stove to accommodate BTU’s that will be burning on your new stove. Never attempt to tamper with gas line without professional assistance. This is true for installation of any gas appliances including, fireplace, BBQ, etc.
