Bytescribe cannot guarantee that a serial foot pedal will work with a USB adapter. Drivers need to be installed first and not all adapters come with the drivers. If drivers came with the adapter, load the drivers and then check in Device Manager to see if it is listed under Ports. There should be an entry that lists the name of the adapter and the COM port it uses. A COM 5 or above listing will need to be checked as COM 4 in the WavPlayer program. If the adapter is not listed under Ports then it is not being recognized by the computer. Unfortunately, sometimes an adapter will not work on a computer and the only option is to purchase a USB foot pedal.
