Yes, you can sell or buy a used car seat. Safety officials typically don’t recommend it because the person purchasing them can never be sure whether the seat was involved in any type of car accident. Trauma to seats from accidents can cause malfunction and/or weaken the structure of the seat leaving the buckled child at higher risk in the event it is in a subsequent accident.
