Creating the look of Core Ten can be achieved in one of two ways. One option is to use a brown powder coating over the galvanized surface. Several states have specifications in place that cover this option. Be sure to use a facility that has experience and require stringent Quality Control, Pre-treatment is imperative or the coating will fail.
Option two is an organic liquid, Natina Steel. Completely enviromentally friendly and applied directly to the galvanized surface. No pretreatment is required, no enviromental or hazardous waste is created. The simplest and most cost effective option for creating a very similar look to Core Ten. No rusting, galvanizing remains in tact. This is the best and easiest way to achieve the look of Weathered Steel.

If somebody tells you that they are supplying you Cor-Ten they are almost certainly lying or don’t understand their own product. Simply ask them if their steel coil was purchased from U.S. Steel.
