Can I buy a used Sprint cell phone online and have it activated under my current contract?
Answer Hi Janayy – If the used Sprint phone that you buy is “clean” meaning that the person who last activated it has paid off any remaining charges, then Sprint will be happy to activate the phone for you and move your current wireless number over to the your new (used) phone. All you will need to do is call Sprint, provide them with your wireless number and let them know that you want to activate a different phone. They will request the ESN number of the phone (located on a white sticker under the battery) and then you will be able to activate the new phone. I don’t blame you for not wanting to spend $250 on a new phone and the “rebates” that Sprint offers are not a good thing. No other provider does this – they just allow you to buy phones at a low cost with a two year commitment. Anyway, let me know if you need anything else. Thanks.
