Can I buy a toll free number for Magic Jack?
A toll free number cannot be forwarded to another number but a regular number (ie. cell phone, land line, VoIP, etc.) CAN be forwarded to a a toll free number. A toll free number’s main purpose is so people can call you, the toll free owner, for free. You pay for their calls. If this is what you’re looking for I would recommend staying away from the VoIP companies if possible. Calls routed over the internet are problematic and can be dropped, scratchy, etc. I recommend a toll free provider with fiber optic cable service. Most major phone carriers have upgraded to fiber optic lines but, unfortunately, major phone providers have been shying away from toll free numbers for the last couple of years in favor of their own cellular plans. That’s one way to go but if you’re adamant about getting toll free service it’s best to do a little research on the subject.
