Can I burn a DVD to back up my iPhoto library?

Yes, you can easily back up your iPhoto library by using the DVD burning capabilities of Mac OS X. Simply insert a blank DVD into your DVD burner and copy the iPhoto library to the DVD icon on your desktop. When you drag the DVD icon to the Trash/Eject button in the Dock, you are given the option to burn the DVD. Click Burn and the DVD is created. If you’re using a computer running a Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard or later, you can back up iPhoto content using a built-in back up feature called Time Machine. Time Machine will back up iPhoto content to an external or networked hard disk drive, especially if your library is too big to fit onto a DVD.
