Can I build portlets with Active Server Pages, Perl, Cold Fusion, or other Web scripting languages?
Yes. Web Clipping and PDK-URL Services allow developers to take any application written in any language and easily create integrated portlets, by taking the URL of an application, parsing the content, and using the PDK-Java framework to create a portlet. This process allows each show mode of the portlet to be rendered from different applications and/or languages. No changes need to be made to the source application. It is possible to consume any kind of Web Service using the PDK, so if your application publishes business logic as a Web Service you can easily integrate it into Oracle Portal. Also, WSRP will allow you to register any kind of portlet independently of the technology used to write it.
