Can I bring in help from out of state in times of special need and get them authorized to work in Florida?
You may have unlicensed elevator personnel, called elevator helpers, who are under the direct supervision of a certificate of competency holder perform work to construct, maintain, service, or repair any vertical conveyance . “Direct supervision” is defined in Section 61C-5.008, Florida Administrative Code. Florida statutes require elevator personnel who construct, install, maintain or repair elevators and vertical conveyances without direct supervision to be certified and licensed by the bureau.
