Can i Breastfeed and express at the same time.?
It is best to avoid all bottles, especially in the early weeks. Nipple confusion is a real risk, and pumping takes a lot of time. If you expect to be apart from your baby (need to return to work, or expect to want the occassional evening out), the 4-6 weeks is a good time to introduce a bottle. By that point baby is usually nursing well, the milk supply is well-established, and the risk of nipple confusion goes down. So you can pump between feeds, or during feeds, and accustom baby to the bottle and start a freezer stash for your return to work. While some moms choose to pump 1-2 times a day so that daddy can help’ this really isn’t very practical. There are many ways that daddy can help and bond with baby that DON’T make more work for you. When you’re with your baby, just nurse your baby.
