Can I Break A Lease If Im Required To Relocate For Work?

You have several options but legally, no you can’t break a lease because work has required you to relocate. First, have a discussion with your landlord and see if they will work with you in trying to find another tenant to transfer the lease to or see if they will let you out of the lease due to their kindness (probably not but worth a try if you are a good tenant). Also, speak to your employer as oreowing said. Many times, if a company is asking you to relocate, they will pay for moving expenses and such but it is getting less and less. If they are, then there is a possibility they have the means to help you take care of the remainder of your lease. You can also talk to friends and co-workers to see if any of them are looking for a place and would be willing to take over the lease. Best of luck in the move and new job location.
