Can I bid for more miles than I have in my OnePass account?
At the time a bid is placed a check is run to ensure the bid amount is NOT greater than your current point balance. Continental Airlines, Inc. will not however, track your available miles during bidding. It is your responsibility to make sure that you do not cumulatively bid more miles than you have in your account, among all the items you’re bidding on. Your bid is an offer, and when bidding closes, if you are the highest bidder, a valid, enforceable obligation is created. Therefore, you must bid carefully and be aware of how many miles you have and how many bids you have outstanding. If you are declared a winning bidder at the end of the auction, and you do not possess enough miles to cover your bid, all of your bids for that item may be deemed null and void. Continental Airlines will reserve the right to award that item to the next highest bidder with sufficient miles in their account.
