Can I attend BUTI as an international student? What additional steps are necessary?
• Because BUTI students are not attending Boston University at a full-time status, they WILL NOT RECEIVE a Boston University issued I-20 and they will not have to apply for an F-1 student visa. Students must only secure appropriate travel documentation to the United States that covers the date range of their attedendance. This documentation must come with them and be presented during the first day of the program. If students attend a secondary school in the US during the academic school year, then those students must be prepared to provide a copy of that school issued I-20 and accompanying paperwork. Although there is no required TOEFL, all students must have a working understanding of the English language.
• After being accepted, you will be contacted with detailed information on these additional steps. They include completing an International Student Data Form (ISDF), receiving or transferring I-20 paperwork with Boston University, acquiring (if necessary) an F-1 Student Visa and providing any further necessary information to the Boston University International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO). Although there is no required TOEFL, all students must have a working understanding of the English language.
