Can I attach the BatterySAVER PLUS directly to the battery?
In situations where the cigarette (or power) socket is inactive while the vehicle is off, it may be necessary to attach the panel directly to the battery. This may be done by: A) Cutting off the cigarette lighter attachment and attaching the stripped wires directly to the battery, Negative to Negative (Black to Black) and Positive to Positive. Then, for safety, install a 3 Amp fuse on the positive wire. OR… B) If you don’t want to cut off the cigarette lighter adapter, just acquire a female cigarette socket extension wired with clamps (available at most hardware stores). Attach this directly to the battery. Plug the male adapter of the BatterySAVER PLUS into the female socket.
