Can I Apply OxiShield over a Stained or Painted Wood Surface?

Yes, you can apply OxiShield over a stained Stained or Painted Wood Surface once the stain/paint has been on for at least 30 days. If a customer puts OxiShield on a surface that has been recently stained, painted or a sealer has been used and uses a pump sprayer to apply, the possibility for “Beading” exists. “Beading” is the same as “Pooling” and is caused due to lack of bonding to the surface. In the event that “Beading” occurs the customer should lightly wipe down the area with a towel or mop and this will eliminate any small white dots from forming once the Shield has dried. If the surface has not dried and white dots appear, then let the surface stand for 7-10 days and use a stiff brush on the surface to remove the white dots. If this does not work moisten a mop or towel with additional OxiShield and lightly rub the surface. Once it dries it should eliminate the spotting. For your convenience, you will find the recommended precautions to take when using The O2 Algae and Mold Remov
