Can I apply for a Centrelink benefit prior to commencing my application?

Yes, certainly. Although your application to Centrelink may not have been processed, you will still be considered for a scholarship if you have applied for a Centrelink (or other Commonwealth) means-tested income-support payment and will be in receipt of the payment by the census date. Once you have applied to Centrelink you will be given a Customer Reference Number (CRN) which you will need to add to your Equity Scholarships application. However, if you do not expect to be in receipt of a Centrelink (or other Commonwealth) means-tested income-support payment by census date then you will need to supply income history information on your Equity Scholarships application.
