Can I amend my complaint in federal court after the plaintiff filed answer?

0

Newbie mistake! I filed a complaint (I am plaintiff) in state court for both federal and state violations against my OC. OC filed a Notice to Remove to Federal Court on day 20. OC filed answers in federal on day 5. I was not aware that an important state violation required the demand letters to be attached to the complaint. According to the rules I see I can amend my complaint until the defendant answers. Does anyone have information regarding filing an amended complaint in federal court after answers are received?
