You would need to have the strings cut off and then have the racquet restrung with new string, if you want to change the tension. It will cost between $15 to $30 depending on where you go. If you want it looser, the string will naturally get looser over time, the more you play with it, but then they’ll also start to feel “dead’, depending on what type of string is on the racquet. I play with WIlson NXT, which feel great up until they break. I usually play until my strings break, and I also kind of like the way my strings feel before they break. Definitely don’t play with a racquet with a broken string, because you can crack the frame that way — a broken string puts uneven forces on the racquet. If you bought the racquet with the string, it was probably strung right in the middle of the recommended tension-range.
