Can I add my favourite painting or other work of art?
It is probably best not to add any works of art to site. A History of the World isnt meant to be about the history of art we are interested in the objects that people have worn, worked with or used. There is also the problem of copyright. Most people only own reproductions of their favourite paintings or other works of art, so you dont have the right to take a photo of it and put it on a website. But even if you own the original it doesnt mean that you own the copyright to reproduce it that right may still remain with the artist or their family. A similar problem exists with books. Overall its best not to add any works of art to the site.
