SILVER WINGS PLAN: You may not add an “Occasional Pilot” if you are the owner of the aircraft. If another pilot wants to fly your aircraft he/she must purchase their own Silver Wings policy. Similarly, a co-owner of your aircraft cannot be added as an occasional pilot, he/she must purchase his/her own policy. An “Additional Family Member” is automatically covered at no additional premium provided the policyholder has a Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) family membership and the additional family member you wish to add is a pilot and lives in the same residence as the policyholder. The legal liability coverage for the additional family member applies in the same manner (except passenger legal liability coverage does not apply to student pilots) as it does for the policyholder. GOLD WINGS PLAN: A completed Pilot Report is required for each additional pilot. Once the Pilot Report is received it will be submitted to your insurer for approval (coverage is not automatic).
