Can I activate a wiegand output for failures?

0

Wiegand output for failure options can be supported for pre-defined wiegand formats only. The two failure options available are Fail String Out and On Fail Send Inverse Parity. When activated, the Fail String Out will send the selected value to the access control panel on all failures. This will be a constant string to indicate to the panel that a failure occurred but will provide no insight as to the id number of the failed user. When activated, the On Fail Send Inverse Parity will invert the parity values within the wiegand sequence so that they are incorrect. Certain panels can support this feature and acknowledge this as a failure and retrieve the id number of the failed user. Bioscrypt recommends checking with your acces control panel manufacturer if this option is supported prior to having it activated. There are some panels that ignore parity calculation and will see these failed strings as valid reads.
