Can Husky Green Fin Kits be used to coat AC units already in use?
A. Yes. Units already in operation can also be coated effectively. However, the units must be shut down and thoroughly cleaned, since units in operation will always have much more dust, dirt and condensation than a new unit. The coils must be clean and dry to get effective coating results. In most cases, equipment must be removed from wall sleeves or from the occupied space. Coating in a hotel situation (PTAC units) is best done during normal maintenance, swapping or rotating units coated with those un-coated.
