Can home-schooled kids go to University? How do they work out their grades compared to normal schools?
The requirements for home schoolers applying to universities are somewhat different than for public schoolers or private schoolers, but home schoolers still have an equal if not better chance of getting accepted. I home schooled all through high school, and I am currently a student in the honors program at Florida State University. The university wanted to see my transcript which my mother and I created, my SAT or ACT scores (homeschoolers can take these tests as well), and a syllabus for each course I took in high school which we had prepared. Other universities may ask to see some samples of work from high school or some additional test scores, but none ask for much more than that. Home schoolers do not need diplomas or GEDs to get into universities.
