Can High Cholesterol Cause Stretch Marks?
High cholesterol is a condition characterized by an elevated amount of cholesterol in your bloodstream. As cholesterol levels rise to upward of 240 milligrams of cholesterol per deciliter of blood (mg/dL), fatty deposits are more likely to accumulate along your arterial walls than if your cholesterol was in a healthy range, which is anywhere under 200 mg/dL. These deposits eventually form into plaque, narrowing your blood vessels and subsequently restricting blood flow throughout your body. This places you at a greater risk of developing heart disease as well as suffering from a heart attack or stroke. This unhealthy escalation in blood cholesterol doesn’t have any direct link to the formation of stretch marks.
