Can hedgehogs eat red meat such as beef?
Hedgehogs can and will eat red meat in small quantities, mainly as mince. From what I’ve read though, I believe they prefer white meat (eg Turkey), and of course, bugs and insects where possible. This is only if it’s a pet though. Wild hedgehogs in temporary human care should only be fed their native foods if you ever hope to release them to the wild. Also, red meat should not be their sole diet: it lacks calcium and magnesium. You can use mineral supplements though.
