Can Health Plus members renewing on May 1 add dependents age 26 years or younger?

Members cannot be added to our “closed” plans unless they are newborns within 60 days of birth, adoptees within 60 days of placement, or court-appointed dependents within 31 days of the court order date. However, a Health Plus member on a “closed” plan can submit a plan change for one of our “Engage/open” plans with an effective date no later than May 1 along with a full application for the new dependent to join the new “Engage/open” plan. Medical Underwriting will review the application for the dependent & coordinate the changes for the entire family.
