Can having 2 babies close together cause preterm labour?

0

There’s never a ‘right time’ to have a second baby, and although there is slightly more chance you will have a premature birth if you fall pregnant within six months, the risk is very small. Most mums would agree that apart from being twice as much work, there is no reason why you shouldn’t have your babies close together. The benefits are that you’ll have just had a baby, so everything will be fresh in your memory and you can double up on equipment. Some parents like to have their babies in quick succession so they can deal with nappies, tantrums and sleepless nights in one go. Babies born close together will also benefit from having a sibling close in age.

My son is 11 months old and my next son is due in 3 weeks. I didn’t have a problem with preterm labor. I also had a c-section the first time and now I’m going to try VBAC…I’m kind of nervous.
