Can Graves Disease go into remission without RAI?
You must do your own research, doctors do not understand how to treat the thyroid, they may understand it but they are ignorant about treatment. I also had Graves disease and did not feel great on the synthetic medication. I was not prepared to take it for the rest of my life as it has many side affects and can lead to oosteoporosis Top doctor in Scotlad Dr Toft gave me three options: 1) Medication for the rest of my life (no thanks) 2) Radio therapy (can be linked to cancer) 3) Operation (mostly sucseful but with obvious links) Maybe I should have taken option 3, but I took 2 in the form of one tablet but it destroyed too much of my thyroid (quite common) and the I was tolt that my thyroid was underactive and would need other medication for the rest of my life.
