Google has a variety of services which run in the background on your Android device. These services periodically attempt to collect and report statistics, WIFI locations, and crash information back to Google. Without an active APN, Google’s applications are unable to effectively run. While they still periodically wake in the background, they are short lived as they are unable to establish a connection back to Google. Limiting network access of these background services is one of the key reasons WiSyncPlus is able to significantly save battery power.
