Can Ghana reach the Quarterfinals for the first time in World Cup history?
Ghana are just experiencing their second World Cup participation. The first time they entered the tournament, in 2006, they could only reach the last 16, where they were knocked-out by quarterfinalists Brazil subsequent to a 3-0 loss. The match was said to be controversial, but subsequent to pressuring complains on the elites of the Federation International of Football Association; they were given no other choice but to leave Germany just as every other loser was asked to. In the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Ghana have added their names in the list of qualified teams ahead of the last 16. They jumped in the second round by finishing as runners-up in Group D behind leaders Germany, but above Serbia and Australia. They’ll be fighting the USA this evening in Rustenburg, and if ever the Black Stars were to trample on Bob Bradley’s boys, then they’ll be entering their first ever World Cup quarterfinals.
