Can gestational hypertension (pre-eclampsia) cause heart failure?

0

My wife was diagnosed with congestive heart failure shortly after her emergency c-section last week. The c-section was done due to her having gestational hypertension or pre-eclampsia. The cardiologist is now saying that she either has perinatal cardiomyopathy (a rare pregancy complication) or that her heart is not working properly because of the high blood pressure. I’m wondering if anyone has an opinion on this. Also I am very worried about her and wondering if anyone with a medical background can help by offering a general prognosis for people with this condition. Thanks!
