Can genital warts be cured?
Dear Counsellor,Three years ago I had warts removed from my vagina but just two weeks ago I noticed the warts are back. I’m shocked to see them back because I have not had unprotected sex since having them removed. Can genital warts be cured? G.H. Dear G.H. The aim of the treatment is to get rid of the infected cells and the warts. However warts are difficult to treat and sometimes you may need to be treated more than once. Warts may also grow back after treatment. Persons who are infected with genital warts are encouraged to be very patient since they may need repeated treatment to get rid of the warts. Please see your healthcare provider again and he/she will recommend additional treatment. Please continue to have protected sex every time you have sex and this will help to prevent further infection with sexually transmitted infection including HIV the virus that causes AIDS.
