CAN G3s TREAT OTHER CROPS BESIDES CEREALS, FLAX AND PULSES?
A. – Yes indeed. G3’s apply liquid treatments to soybeans, corn, cotton, rice, peanuts, or any large seeded crop. They’re being used for Apron®, Crown®, Thiram®, and Vitaflo® 280 mixes to peas, chickpeas and lentils in Canada and Australia, and ApronMAXX to soybeans in Argentina. Their accurate rate application and gentle handling makes them even more valuable in pulses than in cereals. Higher volume nozzles are used in pulse treating, applying up to 200 millilitres (6 oz.) per bushel of treatment. This higher moisture volume provides two benefits. • It softens the pulse hull, giving them much better fracture resistance in further handling, and • makes secondary mixing unnecessary. The G3’s high primary application uniformity insures the seed is completely treated at the G3 discharge. This removes the need for drums or other secondary mixers, which add cost and potential seed damage to the process.
