No, G.G.E.C. has a Carbohydrase enzyme that can slowly break down the petroleum based asphalt in the shingling. This can eventually shorten the life of the shingles. NOTE: For slate, tile, wood and metal roofing materials, G.G.E.C. will work excellent! The Carbohydrase enzyme breaks down hydrocarbons and motor oils. This is beneficial for garage oil stains!
