Can fuel cleaning additives repair faulty fuel system?
I would test the fuel pressure. One big thing I would do is replace the fuel filter, which should be done every 50,000-100,000 depending on the vehicle. They clog up and will hinder fuel flow. Another possibility is the fuel pressure regulator. I would replace the fuel filter, and then run a fuel pressure test though to see where it’s at and if it’s in specs. Hopefully that fixes it. If not, then test your fuel pressure regulator. If that’s good, and your fuel pressure is still down, then yes, replace the pump. Fuel additives will probably not help at this stage, although Lucus injector cleaner is awesome for cleaning your fuel injectors.
