Can FSHost run as a Windows service, so I don have to login?
I don’t have any immediate plans to make FSHost run as a service, but there’s a way you can make it work as a service anyway. Some people use a free program called FireDaemon, which allows any program to be run as a service. After you install FireDaemon, run the “FireDaemon Service Manager”. Then add a new service for FSHost. On the Program tab, don’t check “Console Application”. On the Settings tab, don’t enter a “Logon Account”, but do check “Interact with Desktop”. This will cause it to run as the system, and be visible after you login, so you can change the settings inside FSHost. If you set it to run under a specific account, it grays-out the “Interact with Desktop” checkbox, and when you run it, you won’t see the window. If you have to run it under a specific account, it’ll be invisible, but you can still get to it via the Remote Access web pages.
