Frozen Shoulder Syndrome Frozen shoulder syndrome (FSS) or adhesive capsulitis causes pain, loss of movement and stiffness in the shoulder area. It is called “frozen” shoulder because movement is limited. You might experience excruciating headaches due to tight muscles or nerve irritation.
