Can friction cutting be applied to coated metal sheeting?

0

Abrasive cutting or trimming of metal sheeting on top of roofs during construction should be avoided. However, if unavoidable, the iron particles must be immediately removed from the roof surface by means of a bristle (not wire) brush, since it is not easily washed down by rain. If left on the roof the iron particles will stain the surface and start to rust, completely tarnishing the roof surface and you may end up complaining of corrosion / rusting (swarfing). Warranties become void if swarfing occurs to the sheeting.
