Can French clay kill disease-causing bacteria?

0

Release Date: October 26, 2007 An article by Discovery News reports UB researchers are among those studying whether a French clay can be used to treat infections and kill disease-causing bacteria, and quotes Ross Giese, professor of geology, who said, “It not only stops the infection, but allows the body to regenerate tissues. The Holy Grail in all this is if you could figure this out, it opens up a whole new world of fighting pathogenic bacteria….The previous uses have been low tech. I think that if clay were not synonymous with mud and dirt, we would be much further along.” The research also is the subject of an article distributed by United Press International.
