Can freespace optical systems transmit through glass?
Freespace optical systems can transmit through glass, however, for each glass surface the light intensity is reduced due to a mixture of absorption and refraction. Accordingly we recommend that the operational distance of a system is reduced by 50% (if you want to achieve a distance of 200 metres through glass you would require a 500 metre system).
