Can FortisBC refuse to set up an account?
FortisBC may refuse to set up a new service if the facilities are not available to provide adequate service, if the customer’s facilities are not satisfactory, or if the applicant cannot provide satisfactory security for payment. FortisBC may also refuse to set up an existing service if the applicant has an unpaid debt, or if the new applicant was living at the premise with the previous applicant wherein an unpaid account for services incurred now exists.
