Can Formica laminates be fixed directly to existing wall surfaces?

0

Answer No. Most existing wall surfaces, such as plasterboard or cement-rendered surfaces, or Gypsum board, (both plain and paper faced), are unsuitable for direct bonding because of surface irregularities, low internal bond strength and incompatible dimensional movement. In addition, the performance of hand applied contact adhesives is limited. For full advice on appropriate methods, please refer to ‘Fixing to Walls’ under ‘Installation / Cladding’ in the ‘Technical’ section.
